Black cloves for the “Don” Murder Mystery Dinner!

A Murder Mystery Dinner by Pia Thimon

The powerful Dons in America have been in dispute for the last two years. The feud among the most dangerous families of the country not only means lots of stress and dollars, but has also cost over time the life of too many good people. A truce is essential, so that the entire focus can once again be put on the important things of mafia life in the thirties (smuggling, illegal booze and protection money). The country thirsts for ale and fruit brandies.

The great Don Nunzio Vitale, who has been in control of the country and the Mafiosi for the last ten years, sees his position threatened and invites the three most important families to a conciliation feast. Officially, they gather for the annual meeting of the „Belcanto Brothers", to indulge in fine food and good song. But under the surface there is growing unrest. Each of the Clans pursues its own dark plans, and peace stands on shaky ground.

It is mainly Don Michele from New York who causes trouble. His thirst for power knows no boundaries and he constantly pushes more and more towards Chicago and Don Nunzio's territory. And to make things worse, the great Dons' sons also cause them worries. Don Nunzio's son gets shot and Gabriel, Don Michele's only offspring, turns his back to the „Belcanto Brothers" because he wants to pursue a career as a singer
.
Even though no-one is trusting of anybody, the feast is cheery and peaceful, except for a couple of unimportant incidents. Everything seems calm, when suddenly, fatal shots ring out...

In spite of the Belcanto and the exquisite food, violence threatens to escalate. Only Detective-Lieutenant Joe Calambo from the FBI can remedy the situation, as long as he is able to count on his cops or the guests.
Guests will then decide if they want to join forces with the law or become part of the "Belcanto Brothers" in the dark intrigues of the Mafia. Spectators may, of course, resort to their right to refuse giving evidence and enjoy the evening as neutral eyewitnesses.
